Well Known Organisations Get Awarded with the Golden Peacock Award for CSR Reporting (Sept. 2007)


More than 30 organisations from all over the world participated in the "Golden Peacock Award for CSR Reporting", which was created by the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) and the World Council for Corporate Governance (WCfCG). The "Golden Peacock Award for CSR Reporting" was developed in order to provide support to the global corporate reporting efforts in the area of CSR, and at the same time to offer an international distinction for corporations that provide best practices in CSR Reporting.

The organisations were assessed on a number of strict criteria based on international standards and Corporate Social Responsibility practices. The Jury Committee, comprised by well respected individuals such as Dr. Ola Ullsten, Former Prime Minister of Sweden, Dr. Olivier Giscard D' Estaing, President of the INSEAD Institute and Dr. Ruud Lubbers, Former Prime Minister of Holland, selected the finalist organisations that were awarded with the "Golden Peacock Award for CSR Reporting".

The special Awards Ceremony, held in London, took place on the 20th of August 2007. The awards were conferred to the winners by Dr. Ola Ullsten, Former Prime Minister of Sweden and Dr. Madhav Mehra, President of the WCfCG. The organisations awarded were Coca Cola Enterprises, Vodafone UK, O2 Telefonica Europe, and Union Fenosa. It is also important to mention the special plaudit awarded to OPAP S.A for its 2006 CSR Report.
